Community Involvement at Intelligent Service
We built our company as neighbors serving neighbors. Our team grew up here, went to school a couple of miles from our office, and still spends our days in the same rinks, fields, and theaters as the families we serve. Supporting this community feels like a natural part of who we are, not a side project.
Our core purpose is simple: help people live in greater safety and comfort. That purpose does not stop at the front door of a home we service. It also shapes how we show up on the ballfield, in the stands, and behind the scenes for local groups and neighbors who need a hand.
Local roots that shape how we give back
We come from Arlington Heights and the surrounding area. We went to high school just a couple of miles from where our business now stands. Because we grew up here, we feel a strong connection to the families, small businesses, and community spaces that make this area feel like home.
Those roots guide the way we support local activities. Over the years, we have sponsored baseball teams, community theater productions, and a hockey team. These groups give kids and adults a place to learn, perform, compete, and connect. When we put our name behind them, we are really backing the coaches, volunteers, and parents who keep those programs going year after year.
Our involvement is hands-on as well as financial. You can find members of our team cheering in the bleachers, attending performances, and showing up as part of the same community we serve during the workday. That everyday presence keeps us grounded and reminds us why this area matters so much to us.
“Do what’s right” as a way of doing business
Many of our community efforts grow out of a simple idea that came from family lessons: charity starts at home, and you help the person next to you. We turned that into an internal effort we call our “do what’s right” program. It gives us a clear way to act on those values when we see a neighbor in a tough spot.
Through this program, we sometimes step in and cover the cost of a repair or a heating system for someone who cannot manage it at that time. For the homeowner, it often means one big worry off their list. For our team, it is a chance to say, “This repair is on us” and know that we made a real difference that day.
That moment matters to everyone involved. Our technicians see that we stand behind more than just a job ticket. They see that the company they work for makes room for generosity and common sense, not just the bottom line. Those experiences help build a culture where people look for chances, big or small, to do what feels right.
Partnering to bring comfort to neighbors in need
Our “do what’s right” mindset also led us to a key partnership with one of our vendors. As part of that relationship, we receive six HVAC units each year at no cost. We then donate the labor and any materials needed to install those systems for people who need heating or cooling but do not have the means to pay for new equipment.
We use those units to support individuals and families who have run into hard times or face financial limits that make a safe, comfortable home difficult to maintain. Our team handles the installation just as carefully as any other project, with the added satisfaction of knowing that the work helps someone get through a hot summer or a cold winter a little more comfortably.
These donated systems represent a steady, ongoing part of our community involvement. Each installation has its own story, and every year brings a new set of neighbors who benefit from this effort.
Supporting the people behind local programs
When we sponsor a baseball team or a hockey team, or help a community theater group, we see it as backing the people who give their time and energy to those programs. Coaches, directors, and volunteers often juggle many roles. Our support helps them focus more on the kids and performers in front of them and a little less on the cost of uniforms, ice time, or production needs.

Edgar from Intelligent Service was the best plumber I've ever had. He was kind, courteous, and a great problem solver. As with most repair jobs, once you open that wall, a million unexpected things go wrong. Edgar solved every problem and did so in a way that kept the job from turning into a massive beast of torn out tile or cut-outs behind cabinets, blah blah blah.
