I have used this company on an as needed basis. I have had good experiences with the services and technical personnel. HOWEVER, I have found the company’s customer service severely lacking. I recently spent $13,000 to have my sewer lined. 4 months ...later, I spent $1,415 to have a routine replacement of my ejector pump. Both payments were with a credit card. The day after the pump was installed, I discovered a gift card from them for $50 off. There was no expiration date and no indication that it had to be presented at time of service. Since it was a weekend, I was told to send an e-mail to their info mailbox. I did this and explained my error … asked if I could have a $50 credit … no response. I called and talked to a CSR. I was told “No” due to company policy and that it had to be presented at time of service. I asked to talk to a manager and reminded the manager that I had given them over $14,000 in business within the past 4 months. The CSR manager took it to a management meeting … no response … had to call back for an answer … “No” due to company policy. “If we do it for you, we would have to do it for everyone … no exceptions.” Their solution was to offer me an undisclosed amount over $50 on my next service … whenever that would be. In business, there are always exceptions on a case-by-case basis. -------------------- 3/26 --------------------------- Just spoke with the customer service manager ... she clarified that the future credit will be $75 ... still no change in willingness for me to relinquish the future credit in lieu of a $50 credit to my credit card now. I appreciate the gesture but I am on a fixed income (mentioned that to her) and don't know when my next pluming need will be. Several days ago I related this story to a neighbor (also retired) who uses Intelligent Service regularly. He was surprised at the "no exceptions" policy especially given that I have provided over $14,000 in business within the past 4 months. During a recent appointment, I also shared the story with my contact from a local tree service I use regularly. He, too, was surprised at the approach to policy vs. customer service.Read More...
